Escape Games at Norwich Guildhall

History Mystery escape games at Norwich Guildhall take place in the largest surviving medieval civic building outside London, dating from 1407 and overlooking the 900-year-old market in the heart of the city. Inspired by this stunning building, we’ve delved into fascinating stories from the past and players access parts of the building rarely seen by the public to enjoy a thrilling hour solving mysteries based on Norwich’s rich history.

Escape Game Accessibility

Norwich Guildhall is a Grade I listed building in a largely unmodernised condition and is only partially wheelchair accessible with no disabled toilet facilities in the building. Unfortunately there are a number of steps and uneven surfaces to negotiate to reach our game rooms that make them entirely inaccessible to wheelchairs and the rooms themselves have uneven floors and steps within them. The games mainly require problem solving skills but do require an amount of manual dexterity and visual acuity, with reading glasses required if used. Pre-recorded sound effects are used and lighting levels are mostly medium throughout, with torches provided for use in low light areas.

Visitor Amenities

The Guildhall also houses Café Britannia in the City, open daily and offering a mouth-watering selection of beverages, light lunches, snacks and cakes to eat in or take away. If you are making a day of it, the wonderful city centre of Norwich is crammed full of places to visit and enjoy.
